About the Author
Gerald Thomas Schuster received his Ph.D. in geophysics from Columbia University in 1984. He took up a faculty position at the University of Utah in 1985, where he is currently Professor of Geophysics and the founder and director of the Utah Tomography and Modeling/Migration (UTAM) consortium of oil, gas, and mining companies. He served as Chief Editor of the journal Geophysics from 2004 to 2005, and was a co-recipient of the 2007 Eotvos prize from the EAGE for the best paper in the journal Geophysical Prospecting. Professor Schuster has been invited to give short courses in seismic imaging and signal processing methods to major petroleum exploration companies throughout the world, and was the invited Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Distinguished Lecturer for 1998-1999.

Very good book for people new to the material

For my research I have to read up on seismic interferometry. This book starts at a really basic level (assuming you have some seismology knowledge) and introduces topics in a logical order. So far I have only read the first two chapters and the only comment I have is that it would be very nice if there were solutions available to the problems. Some problems are quite involved and since I do self-study I'd like to have something to compare my answer with. After searching online for a while I could not find them so I don't think they exist. Please correct me if I am wrong. But I'd like to repeat that the book is very good in general.
